Day three and I still can’t turn my head to the right. I called the BCBS nurse line and they told me to alternate cold and hot packs, take my favorite pain killers and perhaps get a massage, for up to 7 days or unless conditions worsen or symptoms change. I guarantee if Nick called for the same problem, they would tell him to go to the emergency room. In fact, they would probably offer to come pick him up and bring them there. Then they’d prescribe him about 10 different drugs: Percocet, Vicodin, steroids, allergy medication, eye drops, Lipitor, Nexium, Xanax, Zoloft and Levaquin. Then they’d take him out to lunch while they wait for everything to be filled, bring him home and tuck him into bed. Oh the burden of being a woman, it’s the price we pay for being able to tolerate pain!!
