Houston, we have lift off

November 24, 2010

I’m blogging from the Houston airport. Nick and I are on our way to Belize with Curtis, Kristen, Cindy, Ted, and Ellie.

Jake picked us up at 4 am. I got a whopping 8 minutes of sleep before he arrived. I hadn’t really thought about packing until I got home from work, so that’s what I spent most of the evening doing.

Once we got to MSP and made it through security (I was scanned; there was no drama), we went to the gate. I tried to sleep, but the conversation was too engaging so I couldn’t. I was hungry, so Nick and I went to get food. After lollygagging at the cafe, I decided on a breakfast quesadilla and coffee. While we were waiting for it to cook, Nick realized it was 6 am (our flight was at 6:20). He went to the gait while I waited for the food. By the time I got to the plane, everyone had boarded but us. It was all rush rush rush to get on, then wait wait wait because they boarded everyone too early. Fortunately it gave me plenty of time to OMNOMNOM my breakfast quesadilla.

The flight was turbulent from the start, and the cabin was stuffy as hell. I was pretty incoherent through the whole thing though. I’m wide awake now. We have 3 hours left of our 4 hour layover. Ish. Good thing I have this WordPress for BlackBerry app . . .
