The second dive of the day started off with a bang. Rudy speared a lionfish right off the bat, which attracted a pile of nurse sharks. They went into a feeding frenzy, swimming frantically and bumping into us. They were moving so fast I couldn’t get a good shot, so I started up a video. If you hear me giggling, it’s because one rammed right into my butt.

Here’s Curtis’s video of the sharks eating. You can see me getting assaulted around 0:20.

The sharks were with us for the remainder of the dive, and I took about one hundred millionty pictures of them. Was there anything else of interest to look at? Who cares! Give me a nurse shark and I’ll be a happy diver.

Oh, wait. There was this spiney thing that I got close enough to to use the flash, so you can see the colors really well. Makes me want to invest in a super big light so my pictures turn out awesome.

I spent too much time hanging out deep with the sharks, so I had to hang above the group for a while near the end of the dive. Also, no lionfish for Nick.

This was my first night dive. It was pretty awesome. I didn’t bring my camera because I didn’t want to ride Curtis’s light the entire time, but here’s an entertaining video for you to watch instead:

Kiss Kiss

The last recital of the 2011 dance season wrapped this afternoon. It was fun, I had a blast, and hopefully I won’t forget to buy a DVD this year. I thought it’d be fun to post a video of a dance from 3 years ago because Sara wanted to hear the song Kiss Kiss, and because we were just so awesome, I couldn’t possibly rob her of the privilege of watching us herself!

Actually, now that a few years have passed and I forgot most of the moves and how irritating the song was (because let’s face it, doing the same dance for 9 months gets a little tedious), it’s actually not that bad. We look pretty good, the costumes aren’t as hideous as I remember (i.e. I didn’t look as fat as I thought), and I can honestly say it’s pretty entertaining to watch.

My favorite part is when I bombed my grands so bad that I turned right off the stage. Yeah, if I call myself out it makes it okay, right?

Too much rock for one hand

Smitty’s bachelor party is at our house this weekend, and although I’m making myself scarce tomorrow, I refuse to be kicked out of my house two nights in a row. Right now I’m holed up in the bedroom with Boo, doing something that should have been done a long, long time ago.
