Knocked Up

No, not me. The movie!! Nick and I saw Knocked Up on Friday with Curtis & Kristen. It was a funny movie from the writers of 40 Year Old Virgin (and most of the same cast). It’s about two people who meet at a bar and have drunken sex and (surprise, surprise) end up getting pregnant. She’s a successful woman who works for E! and he’s your stereotypical pot head loser. As they struggle to make it work as parents to be, the movie touches on the many different stereotypes of married couples, relationship miscommunication, hollywood, being pregnant, having children, etc. and of course is filled with the tastefully horrible yet funny jokes. I’d have to say my favorite parts of the movie are the cameos by celebrities who poke fun at themselves and/or hollywood.

The movie was good. It’s filled with dumb humor which typically takes 2 or 3 viewings before it starts to grow on me. Originally I didn’t have high expectations of it, but that morning I heard so many great reviews that after seeing it I was disappointed that I didn’t find it wet-your-pants-funny, as one reviewer put it. I probably would have enjoyed it more if I watched it with my originally low expectations. That and I couldn’t help thinking how I’d rather be watching Shrek the Third (which will be next!!). Anyway, I’d prefer to see this as a rental movie, but you won’t be wasting your money if you go to the theater. That’s why I’m giving Knocked Up 4 out of 5 paloozas.

Gena’s Wedding Photos

I posted my photos of Gena’s Wedding in the photo gallery. There are only a few, and for some reason they didn’t turn out all that well. Maybe I was shaking from the excitement and the extremely blazing heat of the hot Las Vegas sun. Surprisingly, they are the only photos I took the entire trip. My mom has some good ones so I’ll try to get those in the gallery shortly. Enjoy!!

**Update** Now that there are so many photos of Gena’s wedding I’m not seeing as many bikini clad Girls’ Weekend photos. I’m not sure that I like this…

Yessssssssss

Today has been a good day so far. I snagged the new Maroon 5 CD, It Won’t Be Soon Before Long, and the new One Tree Hill soundtrack, The Road Mix. Not only did I get those at Target, but I got some Grapples (pronounced grape-L). It’s an apple that tastes like a grape, and it’s good. Real good. Target hasn’t had them for about a week. I had almost lost hope of tasting the grapey appleness again, but it’s all ok now!!

Game 7

The Beez lost the game against Evergreen Community Church last night. Final score 15-19. There were a lot of dumb errors made that gave ECC runs, but they also made a lot of errors, getting us on first base a lot. A lot. Lots of errors by both teams. Painful to watch.

There’s a new Killer Bee in town. Ryan seemed like a solid hitter during the 2 innings that he played. Hopefully he will be a good edition to the team… and Jake can give him better directions to the field next time.

So now we’re up to 11 Beez. Wait, nope, Adam quit bringing us back to 10. With Adam and Chay out that means Jake will be pitching meaties for the rest of the season. Don’t do it Adam. Don’t do it… don’t do it…
