Make Me Over

October 28, 2007

jillapalooza.com has an all new look. I got the itch to change it up, so it had to be done. Not that I didn’t like the old layout… I think I like it better than the new one, but this new one is pretty fun. It’s got a lot of image files, which I’ve done a lot of manipulation to, thanks to the Gimp.

I fell in love with this layout because of all the nifty little images and the chick with the glasses, who may or may not be in the upper right hand corner (I’ll touch on that in a bit). I thought it would be fun to put an image of myself on my blog, and the glamorous lady just looks so cool, it’s very tempting to recreate the shot with myself.

Which brought me to a couple of issues. First, is it narcissistic to put a photo of ones self on ones own blog? Second, I can’t take good self portraits of myself. I would either need to enlist the help of someone else to take the photo, or deal with a bad photo and just cartoon or oilize myself up with the Gimp.

But then I realized this theme comes with a fun little header photo changer. So I can have the photo rotate between as many as I want (hence the cool lady may or may not being in the corner). It would be like a surprise during every visit to jillapalooza.com. But would that be annoying? I’m not sure. I removed the random photo from the sidebar, because I felt it was conflicting with the giant photo up top.

Let me know what you think about the all new jillapalooza.com.

Confused Cat

October 25, 2007

I promise not to turn jillapalooza.com into a website of cat videos… this one is just too funny. Nick found this video for me, isn’t he sweet? :)

Scuba Nightmare

October 2, 2007

Alright, I had my first scuba diving nightmare last night. Ok, so the nightmare wasn’t exactly diving related. In my dream I was at the cklahr residence. Of course it wasn’t really their house, but you know how dreams are, good enough. Curtis was already at their cabin and Kristen and I were waiting for Nick to get to the house so we could leave for the scuba class. I figured I would take a nap seeing I was kind of sleepy. Between Nick coming over and Kristen being around I felt content to get some shut eye. Of course when I woke up it was 4:30 pm. Kristen hadn’t been paying attention to time, and Nick was still at work. Oh no!! How could we make it to the class by 5:00 if we had three hours of driving ahead of us?? (Again, 3 hours in “dream time”). I was scurrying around trying to collect my belongings from the cklahr residence. Somehow my suitcase of stuff was scattered around the house. Then I realized I didn’t pack any snorkel equipment, and I looked out the window longingly at the rocky ocean below. Yes, I was now on vacation at the cklahr residence, late for the scuba class in Brainerd, with no snorkel equipment to take advantage of the ocean outside. Fortunately for my morale there was no underwater nightmare last night.
